But afterwards she seemed to improve on you, and I belive you thought her rather pretty at one time."
"Yes, replied Darcy, who could contain himself no longer, but that was only when I first knew her, for it is many months since I have considered her as one of the handsomest women of my acquaintance."

Under deras besök på Pemberley blir Lizzy och Miss Darcy mer och mer bekanta och Mr Darcys kärlek ökar i samma takt som Miss Bingleys avundsjuka. Även Lizzy börjar ana att hennes avsky mot den stolte och nedlåtande mannen börjar ta en ny riktning i rasande takt.
